1. 개요 [편집]

인도 뭄바이의 위치한 국제학교이다. 학교는 유치원, 초등학교랑 중.고등학교가 각자 다른 캠퍼스에서 운영중이며 (정확히 말하면 중,고등학교는 BKC, 유치원, 초등학교는 Kohinoor City 에 위치해 있다) , 학기는 8월에 시작해 6월까지이다. 학교 크기는 인도의 국제학교나 다른나라의 국제학교와 비교하면 무척이나 작다. 그래도 보통 국제학교에 있는 시설은 왠만한건 다 있다. 수영장든지, 축구 필드나. 그러나 특히 secondary school campus는 auditorium이 없어서 assembly 는 MPH라고 불리는 체육관이나 black box라고 불리는 매우 작은 드라마실에서 열린다. 물론 축구 필드는 학교 바로 옆에 있는 다른 국제학교인 Dhirubhai Ambani International School 라는 학교와 같이 공유한다.

2.1. 복장 [편집]

2.1.1. 평소 [편집]

교복이 없다. 모두 사복을 입고 다닌다. 자유롭게 원하는 옷을 입을 수 있지만 규칙적으로는 Dress Code에 맞춰입어야 한다. 규정만 봤을때 엄격해 보이지만, 신체 노출에 관련된 사항을 제외하면 자유롭다고 봐도 무방.

Neat dress: Nice shirts, collared polo style or button up shirts are preferable.
Shoulders and backs must be covered.
Sleeveless shirts are acceptable but should cover the shoulders to the end of the shoulder joint and under the armpit.
The shirt and pants must have constant overlap with normal posture and movements; midriff should not be visible.
If a student is wearing a jacket or sweat top over a shirt or blouse that does not meet the dress code, it must remain zipped or buttoned up.
Boxers or other underclothes should not be visible.
Skirts should fall to mid-thigh.
Shorts or combination skirt/shorts should be modest (mid-thigh).
Sandals or shoes are acceptable.
Clothing promoting ideas that are inappropriate in the school setting should not be worn.

2.1.2. P.E. [편집]

학교에 처음 입학할 때 학교 체육복 한 벌을 공짜로 제공받는다. 하지만 꼭 학교 체육복을 입어야 하는 것은 아니며 개인의 체육복을 입는 것을 허용한다. 신발은 무조건 운동화여야 하며, 잊은 경우에는 맨발로 체육관을 다녀야 한다.

2.2. 수업 진행 [편집]

거의 모든 수업을 컴퓨터 위주로 하기 때문에 자가용 노트북이 있어야 한다. 학생들은 주로 애플 노트북을 쓴다. 이 학교에선 거의 애플 앱만 선호하기 때문에 Windows 보단 MacBook이 생활하기에 훨씬 편리하다.

2.3. 과목 [편집]

중학교는 하루에 총 4교시까지 있으며 평소에는 70분 수업, Advisory가 60분 수업이다. Day 1부터 Day 8까지이다.

2015-16부터 바뀌기 시작하더니 2016-17부터는 IB scale 에 맞춰서 성적을 1-7 scale 로 준다.

2.5. Co-curricular activities [편집]

필수가 아니며 희망하는 학생들만을 대상으로 이루어진다.

2.5.1. Sports [편집]

학생들은 본인이 좋아하고 잘하는 스포츠를 선택하고 참여할 수 있다. 연습은 대게 일주일에 4번 (평일 아침 연습 2번, 방과후 연습, 토요일 연습) 이루어지며 이를 통해 11학년과 12학년은 CAS의 Activity 시간을 받을 수 있다. 3번의 시즌에 걸쳐 진행되며 같은 시즌에 있는 2가지의 운동을 동시에 할 수 없다. ASB는 SAISA에 소속되어 있어 High School 학생들의 경우, SAISA팀에 선발되면 다른 학교로 여행하여 SAISA 소속 학교 학생들과 경기를 할 기회가 주어진다.

2.5.2. Music [편집]

학교 내의 정규 수업 Band와 Choir 이외에 음악과 관련된 활동들이 있다. 11학년과 12학년은 CAS의 Creativity 시간을 받을 수 있다. 또한 신청을 통해 SAISA Music에 참가하는 것도 가능하다. 또한 오디션을 통해 AMIS에 참가하는 것도 가능하지만, 실제로 오디션에 붙는 경우는 드물다.

2.5.3. Theatre [편집]

학생들은 연극에서 배우뿐만 아니라 조명, 의상 담당 등의 역할을 맡아 공연을 한다. 11학년과 12학년은 CAS의 Creativity 시간을 받을 수 있다. 배역을 맡기 위해서는 오디션을 봐야하며 연습때마다 성실히 임해야 한다.

2.6. CSR [편집]

Community and Social Responsibility의 줄임말. 매년마다 자신이 원하는 CSR을 지원 가능하며, 새로운 CSR을 창설하는 것도 가능하다. 각 CSR는 NGO와 협력관계에 있으며 정기적으로 봉사활동을 나간다. 전교생이 필수로 해야한다. 11학년과 12학년은 CAS의 Service 시간을 받을 수 있다. 한 가지 이상의 CSR에 가입하는 것은 가능하지만, 자신의 Primary CSR 참석을 가장 우선시 해야한다.

3. 역사 [편집]

1981년에 처음으로 12명의 학생들로 학교를 설립하였으나 점점 학교가 커지게 되면서 학교를 이사하였다. 1988년 11월땐 Breach Candy에서 Bandra로 또다른 학교를 설립하였다.
